Customizing... Where to start ?

" I was thinking " instead of sleeping;  of my collectable dolls and how i started to customize some of them. Then i remembered years ago when i found my first Blythe doll in a store. I wanted her so badly and she was not the most affordable doll! I had no idea that it was a collectable and that some artist were customizing them.  I didn't know that the word customizing was existing in the first place.
Then i spent my first 120 $ for a "save the animal Blythe doll to customize" after reading online tutorials. Wow a SBL mold!  The worst to start with... i was so afraid to wreck the poor doll!

All that to say; Where do we start when we want to customize a doll like Blythe , Pullip or even Tangkou? I started by reading Melissa at the http://www.puchicollective.com/ website. She thought me everything that i needed to know to get started! All dolls are different but when it come to rerooting techniques, carving, sanding,  repainting and make-up, sewing outfits and buying supplies, we all pretty much end up doing the same things and looking at the same places. If you want to customize a doll and you just don't know where to start, i would suggest to visit this website, it is a wonderful place to learn!

Quote from Miss Audrey;

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

“Paris is always a good idea.”
― Audrey Hepburn

“The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a Woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows.”
 Audrey Hepburn

“Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book, and remembering - because you can't take it in all at once.”
― Audrey Hepburn

“I have to be alone very often. I'd be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That's how I refuel."

(Audrey Hepburn: Many-Sided Charmer, LIFE Magazine, December 7, 1953)”
― Audrey Hepburn

“As a matter of fact, I rather feel
like expressing myself now.”
― Audrey Hepburn

About Tangkou Dolls

Tangkou Doll Aussie, BDS03
HOW IT STARTED... WHO IS BEHIND HER?

Tangkou doll was designed  by the 6th Sense Tang Doll Group. The name of the design team refers to an old Chinese proverb that says: "Every good artist has a sixth sense". Therefore, Mr. Sun, The official designer/owner of Tangkou Doll Brand thought it was appropriate, even essential, to baptize its group of design this way. The name of the doll also have its own meaning. The term "Tang" means "China" and its pronunciation is the same as "Tang" which means "candy" in China. "Kou" means "the result" and "initiation of fruits." This supposes that the doll represents a Sweet Tangkou Chinese.

COLLECTABLE OR NOT ?

The whole idea behind Tangkou came from a group of doll collectors! They had the goal of creating their own brand of collectable dolls! They are always seeking for new dolls to collect and want to gather all the nice qualities they find and enjoy the most on their favourite dolls to produce "the best Chinese doll". They also want people to discover, through this doll, the Chinese culture.

The 6th Sense Tang Doll group is planning 6 to 8 new releases per  year. These" Limited Edition"  will inspire different themes mostly focussing on Fashion, culture, movies and Fairy tales.
